Fika- Swedish cafe and bistro

Passed by this cafe & bistro a couple of times. There's just something alluring about its white interior and canopies. Perhaps it was located near Haji Lane & Arab Street, the last thing we would expect is a Swedish restaurant. Thus we approached this piece of White for our high tea.

Things tend to turn out good whenever there is no initial expectation, isn't it? I was reading some reviews online, and surprisingly, many did not sing praises. Grace and I were one of the few lucky ones who enjoyed our meal, I guess. Ha, that's good news for us.

I've kind of quit blogging about food because I feel a little embarrass having to whip out my camera and cam-whore about carbohydrates and proteins at the age of 26. Felt like a thing only for good old school days.

But anyway, I still did. I really like the interior decorations- the White sort of calms me down, especially with rain drizzling outside that day.

We were very amazed by the Cream of Mushroom. Indeed very creamy. My bet is that they might have added cheese. Very very sinful, but even more so, if we didn't finish it up!

It is almost a crime not to order Swedish meatballs at a Swedish restaurant, and we were criminals of the day because we had seafood pasta instead. Not the average tomato-base ones, I would say. There was a graceful touch of bitterness from the herbs which was a pleasant surprise for me.

Another good call was the Swedish Pancakes. Yummy! Personally, I prefer thin slices like these, instead of those chunky, fluffy ones that could be an inch thick and make me feel like I were eating flour.

Haha, silly to admit, but the flawless set of china compliments the whole experience.

We didn't manage to go up to the second floor that day but according to their website, Fika does private event on the upper level. It is decorated just like a Swedish home, an awesome choice for a house party! Check out the webbie. ;)
